A weekend at high altitude: experience three days at a chalet in the South Carpathian Mountains with activities for nature & food lovers as well as relaxed explorers!

Friday 07.09.18

11.00 - departure from the meeting point in the Avrig Valley (Izvorul Florii)
11.30 - thematical hike to the chalet with a ornithologist, picnic on the way up
15.30 - arrival and welcome with mushroom soup. accommodation in dormitories (7 to 10 persons) or tents
18.00 - dinner with local specialties around the camp fire
20.00 - presentation about the area, flora & fauna of the Fagaras Mountains
21:00 - reading: legends and stories from Transylvania
22:00 - mountain songs - let´s sing together ;)

Saturday 08.09.18

09.00 - breakfast with "Suru omelet"
10.00 - preparing the sheep with the team from Syndicat Gourmet
11.00 - hiking tour - how to use mountain herbs. outdoor picnic
19:00 - dinner: sheep pit
21:00 - music evening with "The Hipodrome of Music"

Sunday 09.09.18

09:00 - Breakfast for children
11:00 - brunch for adults with two different traditional sour soups
14:00 - 17:00 - descending to the valley (Izvorul Florii - Valea Avrigului)

Access to the Suru chalet is on foot! We take a gentle - medium hiking trail of approximately 2h - 2h30 with one picnic break. Appropriate hiking shoes (boots, boots, adherent sports shoes, plus trekking sticks) are recommended.

The Suru chalet is a mountain cottage with rooms of 7 to 10 beds and a shared bathroom. For those who choose to sleep in the cottage, beds have bedding, so there is no need for sleeping bags.
